An installation using Native Southern California plants to comment on themes of displacement and migration. My father, a Mexican immigrant, would tell me stories of how when he immigrated here he spoke only Spanish. The teachers would direct him to draw in the corner because there was no way of communicating with him. I think classrooms can be tricky places where we never know what others are going through.
